Darwen Food Share

We are thrilled to support a wonderful local community initiative, Darwen Food Share, a project close to our hearts. Founded in 2020 by our very own Gail Ainsworth and her dear friend Jenny. Darwen Food Share was created to help those in need within our community, particularly the homeless, families struggling to put food on the table, and individuals seeking companionship in a warm, welcoming space. Every Monday, Darwen Food Share hosts a gathering at St. Peter’s Church in Darwen, offering hot meals, takeaway bags, and tinned food to those in need. In addition to these essentials, the organisation also provides sleeping bags and toiletries for the homeless, alongside support for individuals navigating the cost of living issues or waiting for benefit payments.

Generous donations from local businesses, including the delicious baked goods from Clayton Park Bakery, help sustain these efforts. Our team at Site Surveying Services is proud to contribute by providing fresh fruit and sweet treats for the Monday gatherings. Gail, Jenny and the team also commit to various fundraising events throughout the year, including an annual ‘sleep out’ event every November, raising awareness and funds to continue their vital work.
