What is an EIR

An Employer’s Information Requirements (EIR) document sets out exactly how a client or principal contractor needs survey and project data to be structured, formatted, and delivered. It defines the standards, coordinate systems, file formats, naming conventions, and level of detail required so that data can be used directly within their project environment — typically their BIM platform or CAD workflow — without any reprocessing.
